DAMUS is the Italian acronym for the machine tools that are the firm’s core business: diamond oval turning machines, boring machines and special machine tools.

Right from the company’s founding in 1983, DAMUS have designed and developed special equipment to manufacture high-precision components of endothermic engines (such as connecting rods, pistons, cylinder liners) with micrometric tolerances and control capabilities.

DAMUS has always aimed to a high quality work with an eye on the future and progress. This set of values has guided DAMUS’ professionals and staff in the design of top-quality machines. The expertise, professionalism and passion of the company and its staff are the resources that DAMUS has invested in designing and patenting the following dedicated units:

  • automatic micrometric compensation device DPU/1000 for boring with controlled piloting system of the tool in the cylinder- or trumpet-shaped (double and single) design;

  • millesimal oscillation device DHE/2350 for turning with ovalization of complex, uneven and asymmetrical profiles;

  • controlled radial device (recessing attachment) GRE/1500 with brushless engine for chamfering, faceting, grooving and so on.

CONNECTING ROD BORING MACHINES

The spindles used are built in different designs: ultra-precise ball bearings, hydrodynamic or hydrostatic support.

PISTON BORING MACHINES

Our spindles are hydrodynamic, with ball bearings lubricated by temperature-controlled oil or permanent grease.

PISTON LATHES

Throughout the overall piston manufacturing process, the extremely complex turning of the skirt’s convex and oval profiles has achieved an outstanding level.
